Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Gets a New Gameplay Trailer

After Ancient Greece, Ubisoft is ready to bring the world of Assassin's Creed to the world of the Vikings. We already got a cinematic preview for Valhalla, but now Ubisoft is giving us a look at the gameplay with this new trailer.

Become Eivor, a mighty Viking raider and lead your clan from the harsh shores of Norway to a new home amid the lush farmlands of ninth-century England. Explore a beautiful, mysterious open world where you'll face brutal enemies, raid fortresses, build your clan's new settlement, and forge alliances to win glory and earn a place in Valhalla.

England in the age of the Vikings is a fractured nation of petty lords and warring kingdoms. Beneath the chaos lies a rich and untamed land waiting for a new conqueror. Will it be you?

Admittedly the trailer still looks pretty cinematic, but I imagine that's all the visuals come from the actual game. We get a look at a lot of great locations, and I'm sure some of these shots come from in-game kill animations.

While "Assassin" is literally at the title of the franchise, a lot of fans have been feeling that Assassin's Creed is moving further from the "sneaky" part of the game, closer to WitcherIII territory where you can openly explore a fantastical, period world. Then again, not too many people are complaining, seeing that Odyssey got a lot of great reviews when it came out.

No specific release date has been set for Assassin's Creed Valhalla, but the game is set to be available for PS5, Xbox Series X, PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
