Kraven: The Hunter is currently shooting scenes in London, teasing some thrilling action sequences that are all set for the fans. Now, a star from the upcoming Spider-Man spin-off offers a compelling update about the upcoming film.

In an interview with Deadline, Ariana Debose talked about Sony's upcoming Kraven: The Hunter in which Debose was rumored to play Calypso, a voodoo priestess who specializes in using magic potions, herbs, and charms.

When asked how the film is going, "It’s cool. It’s going well," Debose responded. "I mean, for as much as I believe I’m allowed to say about it, I think it’s going swimmingly."

When Deadline offered praises to Marvel Studios, Debose acknowledged it and reacted, "Yeah. I’m proud of them. I think all of these franchise pieces, it’s all about your growth. And it’s exciting to be a part of something that feels like it’s taking a step in a different direction. I feel like they’re just allowing this to live in whatever world it needs to live in, which is kind of cool. I don’t like work experiences, period, where I feel like I’m asked to fit a box, because my job is to discover the box and to define the box. That’s my job, in my opinion. I mean, it is 2022."

Debose's casting as Calypso marks a significant event for the Spider-Verse, adding another element to the franchise, which is magic. In addition to that, Calypso also serves as a pivotal element in Kraven's journey, as she originally plays the love interest of the anti-hero. While it's easy to predict that Kraven and Calypso will develop romantically in the live-action film, it's still a mystery how Debose's Calypso will stick to its source material.

Debose's update about the upcoming Spider-Man spin-off definitely adds up to the fans. And it looks like Kraven: The Hunter is totally ready to premiere in theaters on January 13, 2023.
