With Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania set to be Marvel Phase Five’s opener, there’s a lot riding on its shoulders, especially given that it will also be introducing the MCU’s new big bad, Kang the Conqueror. However, alongside Kang the Conqueror is the welcoming of M.O.D.O.K., which Ant-Man 3 writer Jeff Loveness revealed to be his favorite part of the threequel.
During an interview with SFX Magazine (via GamesRadar), Loveness emphasizes that Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania has been pretty much sticking close to the books so as not to disappoint fans in introducing M.O.D.O.K. into the MCU, however, the writer also did tease having had a little tweak of the side villain for the threequel. “Obviously, we are very faithful to the comics with the design and the look,” Loveness explained, “But then there is a little bit of extra we put into him.”

Loveness continued on to say how this single favorite thing in the Quantumania could possibly cost his job: “Maybe I’ll get fired off [Avengers: The Kang Dynasty] when people see it, but some of my favorite moments come from M.O.D.O.K. and the dynamics there!”
When asked to describe the MCU’s M.O.D.O.K., Loveness says, “He’s a real loose canon character and I had a great amount of fun with him,” which clearly indicates why M.O.D.O.K.’s appearance in the film is possible to be more than just the inclusion of the character. In fact, the Ant-Man 3 writer went on to say the movie “became so fun” upon M.O.D.O.K.’s entrance. As for what awaits Scott Lang and the gang, I guess we’ll just have to wait and see once the film hits theaters.
