Anime Expo 2022 has revised its regulations and guidelines for attendees at the upcoming convention. It has been announced that attendees will no longer be required to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination or a negative test to enter the event.
The Anime Expo official website shared a press release announcing the revision to the regulations and guidelines. Although COVID-19 vaccination or negative tests are no longer required, attendees will still need to wear face coverings while they are at the event locations.
"While face coverings will still be required inside the LACC, we will no longer be requiring proof of vaccination or negative test for entry," the statement reads.
"All attendees of AX 2022 will be required to wear face coverings, regardless of vaccination status, at all times unless in outdoor areas or actively drinking or eating. Face coverings must fit snugly and properly, fully covering your nose and mouth, and secure under your chin," it continues.
The statement adds that the regulations and guidelines will apply to "all attendee groups, including but not limited to, exhibitors, artists, vendors, guests, staff, press, industry, volunteers, and cosplayers."
It then notes that "these requirements and guidelines may be subject to change as more details emerge. SPJA reserves the right to change or modify these terms at any time."
Anime Expo 2022 had previously announced that attendees would need to provide proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test taken at least 72 hours before the event.
There will be several panels and presentations at Anime Expo 2022 from major anime franchises. It was previously confirmed that Chainsaw Man is getting a panel where major updates about the anime could be revealed.
The event will be held from July 1-4, 2022, at the Los Angeles Convention Center. It will also mark the convention's 31st anniversary.
