It's always fascinating to know what our favorite actors were doing before they were famous. For Euphoria’s Angus Cloud, things were pretty normal, and if you love Waffle House, he might’ve served you before.

Cloud plays Fezco, a drug dealer who manages to be charming and compassionate at the same time. Fez quickly became a fan favorite character on Euphoria, and his popularity has only grown since Season 2 premiered. Cloud had very little acting experience prior to getting cast in the HBO series, which is surprising.

Angus Cloud Worked at a Waffle House Before Cast as Fezco

Cloud didn't have much acting experience when Euphoria premiered in 2019, thus he didn't have much to work with. He went to the Oakland School for the Arts, according to GQ. His main focus, though, was technical theater, and he spent most of his time building sets and operating lights. For his role in the HBO series, Cloud was discovered almost by chance.

“Yeah. So I was just walking down the street with my homies and this woman, Eléonore Hendricks, I believe is her name, she came up to me. She said, ‘Can I talk to you?’ I was like, ‘You got to walk with me.’ So she spit her little pitch and I ended up going down to her studio, her Jennifer Venditti’s JV8 Casting Studio, and they asked me some questions,” Cloud said on The A24 Podcast.

“And then they had me do a couple auditions and then auditioned in front of some of the producers or whatever, and then flew to LA for the pilot, man.”

The opportunity came as a surprise, especially given Cloud's previous job:

“Before I started this, acting, I was getting $7.50 an hour at a waffle house, bro,” he revealed on the podcast.

Angus Cloud as Fezco in Euphoria

Cloud debuted as Fezco in Euphoria Season 1. He is a drug dealer and Rue's friend who works with his "little brother" Ashtray. Despite the fact that Fez sells drugs, he is concerned about Rue's addiction. Despite her berating and cursing, he eventually stops providing her the drugs entirely.

Euphoria Season 2 detailed how Fez became involved with his current line of work. When Fez was a child, his grandmother, a drug dealer herself, took care of him. She taught him everything she knew about the business and even referred to him as her "partner."
