Angelina Jolie was seen leaving the celebrity hotspot Nobu in Malibu, California, with the billionaire David Mayer de Rothschild. The two reportedly spent a three-hour lunch together on Thursday, March 23. So, was it a date or for a business?
In the photos obtained by Page Six, Jolie was all smiles when she left the restaurant, walking alongside Rothschild. The pair was talking and sharing a laugh as they walked together.

At the outing, Brad Pitt’s ex-wife donned a chic black dress with small cutouts on the side to show off her midsection. She paired her glamorous but classy look with matching black heels and sunglasses.
She even pushed her hair back at one point while walking to her car.

Alternatively, the 44-year-old businessman wore smart casual attire: navy blue slacks, a grey shirt, black loafers, and funky, striped socks. He looked in high spirits while smiling and laughing with the Maleficent star.
Jolie’s reps are yet to comment on the outing.
Was the Outing for Business or Pleasure?
As questions arise if Jolie and Rothschild’s outing was for business or pleasure, Page Six believed it was work-related.
The two are known for their care for the world and environment, as both have keen interests in activism.
Rothschild advocates for environmentalism and has worked as the ambassador for the Hyundai IONIQ, the first vehicle built from the group up and specifically available as a hybrid or electric-powered car.
On his Instagram bio, he aims to “warn and inform people about global warming.”

On the other hand, Jolie has been known for working with refugees for the last 20 years as the special envoy to the United Nations.
However, the actress left the post in December 2022 but promised to “continue to do everything in my power in the years to come to support refugees and other displaced people” in a statement.
It’s also good to note that The New York Times reported Rothschild tied the know with Karina Deyko in 2020.

Since Jolie and Pitt parted ways in 2016, the former hasn’t had a serious relationship.
The ex-couple was finally declared legally single in 2019, though they’re yet to finalize all the details of their divorce due to their bloody custody battle and asset issues.
