The legal team of Johnny Depp has accused Amber Heard of using drugs, striking him, and manipulating images she has used as evidence of the Pirates of the Caribbean actor’s alleged abuse. The Aquaman actress was cross-examined, on Thursday, May 17, about her allegations that Johnny could be violent while using alcohol and drugs.
For starters, Johnny Depp is suing Amber Heard for $50 million for a column she penned in which she claimed to be a victim of domestic abuse. The Black Mass star has denied ever assaulting his ex-wife.

Amber Heard Reeling From Johnny Depp’s PR Punch?
Globe Magazine, in its upcoming May 23, 2022 issue, reported that Amber Heard is "firing spin docs and altering trial tactics" as Johnny Depp’s witnesses reportedly ripped her to shreds. The entertainment news outlet claimed the Into the Woods actor had his ex-ladylove drowning in her own fury at their Virginia trial.
Johnny Depp reportedly appeared to have the jury eating out of his hands with gripping testimony and even laughter, claiming he was the target of Amber Heard’s alleged violence and abuse during their marriage. Dr. Shannon Curry, who had examined the Never Back Down actress, testified that Amber suffered from two personality disorders, and was “manipulative” and “shallow.”
Shannon added that if Amber Heard was not “the center of attention,” she would make “up stories to try to get attention, taking on a victim or princess role. Johnny Depp, for his part, reportedly continues to get support from his fans, with a staggering 15 million followers on Instagram as a result of his court testimony.

Amber Heard, on the other hand, axed her PR team, Precision Strategies, on April 18, just days before she was to testify. The London Fields actress also tried to have the case tossed, claiming that Johnny Depp had not proved his charges. However, the judge denied her motion.
The most shocking and controversial testimony came from Amber Heard’s personal nurse, Erin Falati, who treated her starting in August 2014 and claimed that the Magic Mike XXL star is a “mess.” In fact, she said, in a video deposition, that Amber revealed “a history of substance abuse including an addiction to cocaine and liquor. She drinks one to three glasses of red wine a day.”
She added:
“Clients admits to a history of anxiety, eating disorder, attention deficit disorder, bipolar disorder, codependency issues, and occasional insomnia, identifies as bisexual, and was married to a female partner prior to [Johnny Depp.”
Erin Falati also said Amber Heard reacts with “anger and yelling,” and sudden mood swings when frustrated. The nurse furthered:
“You see someone sad and quickly transition to extreme happiness...like a pendulum.”

Amber Heard, as per Erin Falati, also had “jealousy issues and anxiety” over Johnny Depp’s fame and “Ability to interact with females.”
Amber Heard Denies Hurting Johnny Depp And Editing Photos
Meanwhile, in court on Tuesday, the lawyer of Johnny Depp questioned Amber Heard about why she did not seek medical attention despite claiming she suffered cuts and bruises during the fight. Attorney Camilla Velasquez said:
“You’re the one who assaulted someone with a bottle in Australia, isn’t that right, Ms. Heard?”
In response, Amber Heard said she “didn’t assault” Johnny Depp “ever.” However, the One More Time actress acknowledged that she struck her former husband on several instances, which she said happened after “years of not defending” herself.
Amber Heard made the same statements on Monday, stating she “reactively” hit him during physical fights. Jurors also saw an extract from a journal Amber described as “love notes,” in which she appeared to have apologized to Johnny Depp.

"I'm sorry I can get crazy. I'm sorry I hurt you. I can get wicked when I'm hurt.”
Amber Heard explained the entry and stated that “it’s important to apologize when you’re trying to move past fights.” Attorney Camille Vasquez also asked about the accuracy of the May 2016 photo that Amber has said shows the aftermath of Johnny Depp’s alleged physical abuse.
The lawyer of Johnny Depp asked:
“Isn’t it true you just edited these photographs?”
Amber Heard, per Newsweek, retorted:
“No, I’ve never edited a photograph.”
Most, if not all, fans can recall that Amber Heard has repeatedly characterized Johnny Depp’s drug use as problematic and a source of tension in their marriage. Attorney Camilla Vasquez said:
"So, your original idea was to do drugs on an island after your rehearsal dinner to the drug-fueled monster that you were about to marry?"
Amber Heard, in response, said it was a draft itinerary and that there was “going to be weed” at the event. The Friday Nights Lights actress also admitted to using drugs on her 30th birthday.

On several occasions, Amber Heard also repeatedly said Johnny Depp attempted to take control of her career, did not like her taking on new roles, and sometimes because jealous of her co-stars.
During the cross-examination, Camille Vasquez asked Amber about being the “jealous one,” who reportedly had landed her role in Aquaman because of Johnny.
Amber Heard responded:
“No, Ms. Vasquez, I got that role by auditioning.”
