Alison Schapker, the showrunner and writer of Altered Carbon, has expressed her desire to revive the cyberpunk show for a third season, despite Netflix canceling it after Season 2.

In an interview with Inverse, Schapker described her heartbreak at the show's cancelation and stated that she would never give up on the fight for its revival.

Although the future of Altered Carbon remains uncertain, Schapker's comments suggest that official discussions about the show's future may have taken place.

Schapker has worked on several successful TV shows, including Alias, Lost, and Fringe, before joining Altered Carbon in 2018 as an executive producer and co-showrunner.

She replaced Laeta Kalogridis as the primary showrunner for Season 2, and after the show's cancelation, she became an executive producer and writer for HBO's Westworld.

Hope for Altered Carbon Season 3

Schapker's commitment to Altered Carbon Season 3 gives fans a glimmer of hope, but whether it will happen with Netflix remains unclear. The budget for the show is significant, and the streaming giant has canceled many shows as it competes with other streaming services.

However, Schapker's new comments suggest that she would want to be involved in a revival, which would require room in her schedule.

Potential for Revival

While it is unclear how a revival of Altered Carbon might happen, Schapker's comments suggest that the future of the show may not be entirely bleak. Canceled shows have been resurrected in the past, and there is no shortage of audience clamor for Altered Carbon Season 3.

If it does happen, it may not happen with Netflix due to the budget, but fans remain hopeful that they will get to see Takeshi Kovacs back in action.
