It's only been a few days since 2023 started but Netflix already made a number of cancelations.

So far, here are the major shows they canceled and the ones that are at risk of receiving the same fate too.

1899

Released in November 17, 2022, 1899 is a mystery sci-fi show that earned a lot of attention when it aired. But unfortunately, its big twist in the finale disappointed a lot of its viewers, who talked about their frustrations on social media. And as a result, those who were only starting to binge-watch the show learned the twist and decided not to proceed watching the show.

This was pretty evident in the data of the show, which revealed its completion rate was too low to renew for a second season.

Dead End: Paranormal Park is one of the major animated shows that Netflix decided to cancel this month. The show, best known for its LGBTQ+ representation, was originally picked up by the streaming service for two more seasons. But unfortunately, it was among the shows axed in January 2023.

Back in June 2022, Netflix announced that they will be renewing the animated show, Inside Job, for a second season. But as revealed this month, it was one of the shows that the steaming service cancelled.

Shion Takeuchi, the show's creator, shared on Twitter:

“I’m heartbroken to confirm that Netflix has decided to cancel season 2 of Inside Job. Over the years, these characters have become real people to me, and I am devastated not to be able to watch them grow up. Reagan and Brett deserved to get their ending and finally find happiness. And I would have loved to been able to share what was in store with you all.
To everyone who watched, thank you for coming along on the ride. Even though I’m sad, it helps to know that there’s people out there who cared just as much about these characters as me.”

The Chair

Even though The Chair is believed to have been canceled last year, it wasn't until last week when this news was made official.

The show follows Sandra Oh as the chair of the English department at a University.

Uncoupled

Last year, Uncoupled made its premiere on the streaming service, which marked Neil Patrick Harris' return to comedy. Even though data revealed that it had a high completion rate, it also suggested that the show did not have enough viewers to warrant a second season.

This is quite frustrating since the show had a cliffhanger ending that people were looking forward to.
