The series, which became the second Korean series to hit #1 in the global charts, is based on a graphic novel from WEBTOON, Now at Our School by Joo Dong-geun, and it's produced by JTStudios and Film Monster.
It's no secret that production companies in South Korea continue to make quality zombie titles like All of Us Are Dead, and although the series received mixed reviews, many fans on social media praised the series for its entertainment value.

All of Us are Dead Season 2 Release Date: When Will The Series Come Out on Netflix?
All of Us Are Dead was one of Netflix's biggest hits of early 2022, dominating the streamer's charts worldwide, and many fans who binge-watched the entire season shortly after it was released on Jan. 28 are wondering when Season 2 would be released.
Small Screen reported that All of Us Are Dead has been quietly renewed and is set to release on Netflix in 2023. According to the outlet, a Netflix insider shared them the information that the streaming giant wants "Season 2 to be released in 2023."
However, let's take this rumor with a grain of salt until Netflix officially announces Season 2.
However, let's not forget that production for the show's first season was temporarily suspended in August 2020 due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, so hopefully, the production won't have to face delays that could push the release date of the potential Season 2 further.
All of Us Are Dead Season 2 will likely be released sometime in 2023 or 2024, but we'll have to wait for Netflix to announce an official release date before we can know for sure.
According to photos shared on social media, filming for All of Us Are Dead Season 2 already started.
All of Us are Dead Season 2 Plot: What Happens Next?
In the first season of All of Us Are Dead, the entire city of Hyosan was bombed in the martial law leader's desperate efforts to wipe out all the zombies and eradicate the chances of the infection from spreading out to nearby cities.
However, the main cast of students managed to successfully escape the city before the bombs fell. While the group of students had to struggle their way to quarantine camps and ended up losing some friends along the way, they were still able to get out of the zombie-infested areas and into quarantine camps.
While the main cast had to struggle their way to the quarantine camps and ended up losing a few friends along the way, they still managed to make it out of the zombie-infested areas and into the quarantine camps.
Four months later, survivors On-jo, Dae-su, Su-hyeok, Mi-jin, Ha-ri, and Hyo-ryung, reunited after spending the entire time in the quarantine facility. They decided to return to the rooftop of their school because On-jo noticed a light on the rooftop.
When they met on the rooftop, they were surprised to discover that Nam-ra, their class president was still as a "halfbie" or half-zombie, and she reveals that there are more people just like her and that she is helping them out, considering that they cannot return to the normal human civilization due to the possibility that they will be killed on sight.
Because of her unique condition, she leaves the group as a loner once again after spending time with her friends for the last time. She's been a loner prior to the apocalyptic events, but the tragic events made her feel a part of a social group that's now forced to run due to her nature as a half-zombie.
The final scene of All of Us Are Dead Season 1 hints that its storyline could continue in a potential Season 2. The young survivors approach the ledge where Nam-ra jumped off, and their faces looked shocked as they see something off-camera. Viewers are left wondering what the main characters are seeing.
Although the ending of All of Us Are Dead Season 1 seems conclusive, the Season 2 could explore the lives of the half-zombie like Nam-ra as well as the possibility of the virus spreading again.
Season 2 may focus on Nam-ra's story, but we could also see the return of the other survivors. Although their stories have been wrapped up by the end of the first season, we might see them take on a new mission. The next season might also introduce new characters that could play an important role in a new story.
While the show ends with Nam-ra living in the wild with other half-zombies and makes no mention of the virus spreading, the WEBTOON, on the other hand, ends with the virus possibly spreading to Japan.
Season 2 could also focus on the aftermath of the bombing while giving us an update about the group of half-zombies. Nam-ra is talking about. It will likely be set in a different nearby Korean city.
It would be exciting to see zombies go wild in Seoul, but having the story set in the capital of South Korea would probably require a larger budget to produce.
Park Ji-hu, who played Oh-Jo, recently teased what's in store for her character in Season 2. Speaking to Yonhap News Agency (via Express), she said, "On-jo is not a fighter, but she is kind and considerate to take care of friends. So she always runs away," she said.
"In the second season, if possible, I hope On-jo and other survivors become smarter and braver to face zombies," she added.
Lee Cheong-san (played by Yoon Chan-young) could still be alive, according to fan theories shared online.
One of the theories claim that when Cheong-san fell down with Gwi-nam, he was safe because there was a pile of zombies on top of him, protecting him from the bomb's explosion. It's likely that he also used Gwi-nam as a shield since his relentless nemesis was on top of him in their final scene together.
In a Feb. 2022 interview with Soompi, Yoon detailed how he was cast in the zombie thriller and his character's fate after the finale. Fans were quick to speculate that his character, Cheong-san, somehow survived the bombing, but even Yoon doesn't know about his character's fate.
“I was actually asked about whether Cheong-san died or not in another interview recently. To be honest, I don’t know. I haven’t heard about what happens next, and nothing has been decided yet. Personally, I’d like to live. I’d like to be able to say things that I didn’t get to say,” said Yoon.
Cheong-san could also return as a villain. The character has been shown to have a bad temper, which was intensified by all the losses he suffered during the zombie apocalypse, and even fought Dae-su and Su-hyeok in moments of pure rage.
Cheong-san's volatile temperament combined with the halfbie's struggle to keep their minds straight to control their constant desire for human flesh can result in a character who resents being left for dead and who can no longer live a normal life with On-jo. If a conflict between humans and halfbies arise, it's likely that Cheong-san will be on a collision course with his friends.
According to those who have read the source material, the virus will spread to Japan, so this means that Season 2 could potentially end up moving overseas to Japan. However, since All of Us Are Dead is a South Korean production, that seems unlikely.
All of Us are Dead Season 2 Cast: Who Returns and Who are the Newcomers?
The cast for All of Us Are Dead Season 2 is yet to be confirmed as well. However, it's likely that Nam-ra, played by Ham Ji-Hyun, will return to reprise his role.
It's also possible that the other members of Season 1's main cast will return for Season 2, depending on the writers' plans, but it's also likely that new cast members will be introduced.
Season 2 could feature the return of On-jo (Park Ji-hoo), Su-hyeok (Park Solomon), Dae-su (Im Jae-hyuk), Ha-ri (Ha Seung-ri), Mi-jin (Lee Eun-saem) and Hyo-ryung (Kim Bo-yoon).
Because of her tragic fate in All of Us Are Dead, Squid Game star Lee Yoo-Mi is not expected to return in Season 2, but she said that she's lucky to have grabbed her two iconic roles.
Who Are The Crew Behind All of Us are Dead Season 2?
Director Lee Jae-kyoo has expressed his hopes for the show's renewal. Speaking to The Korea Herald, Lee said that he had "intentionally" made room in the zombie series for a potential expansion into Season 2.
Lee said, "Many directions, settings, and scenes were intentionally produced to expand the story into an additional season, including the introduction of the new races of zombies."
He continued, "If the first season can be seen as having presented humanity‘s survival, the next season can talk about the survival of zombies. I hope to present viewers with another season."
