7. Cobb Vanth

Having only seen Cobb Vanth in The Mandalorian Season 2's "Chapter 9: The Marshal', it sure was a huge treat to see him appear in the first few frames of an episode in The Book of Boba Fett. Timothy Olyphant looks like he was born to play the gristly marshal of a dusty, sand-swept town on Tatooine, who wants nothing more than peace for his townsfolk.

It was thrilling to see him lay down the law with a group of Pykes in the episode's opening, but it's the scene at the end of the show that captivated audiences, which finds Vanth in a stand-off with bounty hunter Cad Bane, who ends up putting a bullet in the marshal. Here's to hoping he makes a speedy recovery for The Book of Boba Fett finale!

6. Din Djarin

While fans had already enjoyed Din Djarin in The Book of Boba Fett's "Chapter 5: The Return of the Mandalorian", they were unsure as to whether he'd be returning for the penultimate episode in the series. But after being reunited with Cobb Vanth, we're quickly back in the cockpit of Mando's new N-1 Starfighter as he heads to visit Grogu.

For the second time (and definitely not the last), Din Djarin dons the beskar armor for The Book of Boba Fett, and while we don't get to see him in any action, we do get to see just how deep his bond with Grogu really is. Sadly, he isn't reunited with Grogu, but he is reunited with Ahsoka Tano, as well as Boba Fett and Cobb Vanth on Tatooine.

5. R2-D2

Our third cameo comes in the form of everyone's favorite Star Wars droid, R2-D2, who greets Din Djarin when he lands on the forest planet where Luke Skywalker is training Grogu in the ways of the Force. R2 was last seen in The Mandalorian Season 2 finale "Chapter 16: The Rescue", in which he arrives with Luke Skywalker to rescue Grogu.

As a veteran Star Wars character, seeing the droid appear in the second live-action Star Wars show gave us the warm and fuzzies. And to no surprise, R2 was up to his usual playfulness, not really helping Din Djarin a great deal in finding Luke and Grogu, and even going as far as shutting himself down to avoid talking about it!

4. Grogu

Though Din Djarin lands on a planet where we knew Luke would be training Grogu, it was still unclear at that point whether or not we'd actually be seeing our little green friend. But no sooner after Din Djarin is reacquainted with R2-D2, we find Grogu meditating in the forest with his new Jedi Master, Luke Skywalker.

Seeing "Baby Yoda" back on the screen is a real delight, and while he technically hasn't been gone that long, it's been a lot longer than you think since The Mandalorian Season 2 finale, which aired way back in early 2020! We sure get a lot of screen time from Grogu in this episode, and we see him slowly learning to master his powerful abilities.

3. Luke Skywalker

When Luke Skywalker made his appearance in The Mandalorian Season 2, it's fair to say that the Internet was well and truly broken. It was the most unexpected cameo and a huge pay-off at the same time, as we watched the iconic Jedi slice through several Darktroopers, saving our heroes, and taking Grogu with him to teach him how to become a Jedi.

However, one of the criticisms was the use of de-aging technology on Mark Hamill. While it was a huge feast for the senses seeing him back in Star Wars, the quality of the CGI wasn't all that great. But in The Book of Boba Fett, things have improved dramatically. In short, Luke looks nothing short of real, and seeing him with Grogu on his back was unforgettable!

2. Ahsoka Tano

Ahsoka Tano (Rosario Dawson) was one of many huge cameos in The Mandalorian Season 2, alongside the likes of Bo-Katan Kryze (Katee Sackhoff), R2-D2, and Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill). Her episode "Chapter 13: The Jedi" felt like a sequel to both Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Star Wars: Rebels at the same time.

But despite the fact that the character has her own live-action show coming up on Disney+, fans weren't expecting to see her in the interim. As part of the cameos galore, Ahsoka returns in The Book of Boba Fett's latest episode, and it's fair to say that Rosario Dawson is looking on-point as everyone's favorite Togruta Jedi!

1. Cad Bane

Fans of Star Wars: The Clone Wars were probably already punching the air when they saw Ahsoka Tano back on the screen, and alongside Luke Skywalker for the first time, no less (not to mention she's reunited with R2-D2), but it's fair to say that many probably tossed their hats in the air when bounty hunter Cad Bane wandered in from the desert.

The formidable gunslinger made a huge impression on viewers when he showed up at Freetown on Tatooine to warn Cobb Vanth not to interfere in the Pyke Syndicate's spice shipments. Being the good guy that he is, Vanth of course didn't take kindly to the threat, but in turn, Bane didn't take kindly to his refusal, and shot the marshal and his deputy.
