The Mandalorian's Ahsoka Tano-centric episode "The Jedi" pretty much sealed the deal and proved that it's only a matter of time before we see arguably the most menacing Star Wars villain of all time wreak havoc in the Mandoverse. Grand Admiral Thrawn's eventual arrival to the live-action scene was teased in the second season of the hit Disney+ series and since then, fans have been pumped up to see when and where he'd show up.

There's been a persistent rumor going around for months now that Ahsoka Tano and Thrawn will settle their differences in Rosario Dawson's standalone Ahsoka series which is slated to premiere sometime in 2022. Last week, news claiming that the show has found its Thrawn and Ezra Bridger spread like wildfire and while Lucasfilm has yet to confirm anything, both Mena Massoud and Lars Mikkelsen seem to be a lock for the aforementioned project.

Of course, Mikkelsen is already no stranger to the world of Star Wars as he actually voiced the Grand Admiral in Star Wars Rebels. And given his current age and physical appearance, he'd honestly be a believable live-action version of the character he made so iconic in the animated universe. Digital artist @britedit is revving up the hype train on Instagram and posted Lars' potential look as the menacing villain. Check it out here:

We all know for a fact that Lucasfilm hasn't always been in touch with what the fans want but since the inception of The Mandalorian, the production company has consistently delivered top-notch content. The duo of Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni undoubtedly caused some changes within the franchise and we've been benefitting from it.

Ahsoka is currently in development.
