Adrien Brody to Lead Stephen King's Jerusalem's Lot Series Adaptation

It looks like Stephen King is not slowing down. A new adaptation of the horror legend's short story Jerusalem's Lot is currently being developed and it has already found its lead star in Oscar winner Adrien Brody.

The report comes from Deadline, which confirms that Jerusalem's Lot is the next major project for Epix, the network that produced Pennyworth. The new series has not yet been given a showrunner but Brody is already signed on to play the lead.

Jerusalem's Lot is an interesting choice for Epix considering that it takes place in the 1850s and the story unfolds through a series of letters. One of the correspondents is Charles Boone, who heads for his estranged cousin's neglected ancestral home. However, there appears to be more than just "large rats" hiding within the mysterious house.

Brody has already been confirmed to play Boone. However, Boone's manservant Calvin McCann has not yet been cast. Additionally, the report confirms that the adaptation will not be a modern one and will maintain the short story's setting in the 1800s. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.

Jerusalem's Lot is only one of several King stories and books that will be adapted in the near future. It was previously reported that The Dark Half will once again be turned into a movie. In addition to that, the series adaptation of The Stand is expected to premiere on CBS All Access by next year.
