Adele is, without a doubt, one of the greatest singers of her generation. From chart-topping hits and jampacked concerts, the 33-year-old English singer-songwriter has proven that she is one of the world’s best-selling music artists, with sales of over 120 million records.
Just like the typical woman that she is, Adele has also had her fair share of challenges in life. During an interview with Oprah Winfrey in November 2021, the “Easy on Me” hitmaker revealed that she had a toxic relationship with alcohol, so she decided to quit drinking a few months after getting divorced.
However, new reports suggested that Adele is back at it again after she was reportedly sighted partying at a club in London earlier this month. Keep on reading to know more details.
Is Adele Back To Drinking?
Star Magazine, in its upcoming March 7, 2022 issue, claimed that Adele was seen drinking again months after announcing she had given up alcohol to protect her voice. Sources divulged that the “Hello” hitmaker was seen at G-A-Y club in London in the early hours of Feb. 11.
An unnamed tipster told the entertainment news outlet:
“There was bottle service, and she was drinking like a fish. At one point, she fell over backwards!”
An onlooker added:
“One minute she was laughing and the next she was crying.”
While the crowd of partygoers was thrilled about the “Turning Tables” songstress turning on the stripper pole, insiders claimed that the “out-of-control” party has friends and boyfriend Rich Paul worried about Adele.
It was even reported that Adele fell off the wagon in the wake of the sudden cancellation of her Las Vegas residency and speculation about the state of her relationship. An unidentified source claimed:
“She’s partying and boozing as a coping mechanism. It’s a way of hiding her insecurities.”
Another informant claimed that Rich Paul is not a fan of “party-girl Adele.” It said:
“He’s very controlled when he drinks. She gets messy and it’s not cute.”
In November, Adele told Oprah Winfrey that alcohol took her dad away from her and that played a part in her difficulties with drinking. During the interview, the “When We Were Young” songstress divulged:
“At first, I was probably keep in the alcohol industry alive. Once I realized that I had a lot of work to do on myself, I stopped drinking, and I started working out lots and stuff like that to keep me centered.”
Adele only reconciled with her estranged father, Mark Evans, last year before he died in May 2021 from bowel cancer. She shared that her father felt it was “too painful” to listen to her music due to their strained relationship.
During the special interview with Oprah Winfrey, Adele divulged:
"So I forced him to listen, and it's that we both cried. And then him sort of really understanding my childhood wounds through my song was amazing for me and him . . . And then, when I played him the album, by then, he'd listened to all of 19, all of 21, all of 25."
Adele added that she and Mark Evans shared the same favorite tracks from her albums.
Amy Winehouse Ignored Adele Despite Going To Same School
Meanwhile, the father of the late Amy Winehouse revealed a shocking detail about Adele and his daughter, who went to the same school. Mitch said that the “Black to Black” hitmaker was not really friendly towards Adele.
During his recent appearance at the “Beyond the Music” event in the Design Museum, Mitch divulged that Amy Winehouse “ignored” Adele when they ran into each other.

“Adele was so generous towards Amy. Amy, on the other hand, was not generous towards Adele. Once, I was playing pool with Amy in Camden Town and [her] best friend Catriona walks in with Adele. Adele's first album had come out and Catriona said: ‘Amy, Adele's come to say hello.’ And Amy completely ignored her. She could be a bit like that.”
Speaking with Vogue, Adele claimed that she became popular following the shocking death of Amy Winehouse.
The “All I Ask” songstress told the magazine:
“I got really famous right as Amy Winehouse died. And we watched her die right in front of our eyes. I've always had a very close relationship with alcohol. I was always very fascinated by alcohol. It's what kept my dad from me. So I always wanted to know what was so great about it.”
Adele has yet to comment on the claims that she has started drinking again. So, avid followers of the “Rolling in the Deep” singer should take all these unverified claims with a huge grain of salt until everything is proven true and correct.
