After the fantastic releases of the Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy and Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled, fans have been wondering if Activision will let Vicarious Visions or Toys for Bob develop a new game in the series. Well, it looks like the signs are there for a brand new game starring Crash Bandicoot and friends since Activision has "randomly" decided to give several influencers some cookies that feature the former PlayStation mascot's face.
This was noticed by fans at ResetEra and people on Twitter, which has gotten a lot of people excited. The Crash Team Racing game added so many new features that many felt it was basically a new game, even if the late addition of microtransactions ruined things a bit. And then there were the brand-new levels added to Crash Bandicoot Warped in the N. Sane Trilogy, which were so good that it made fans ask for a new game.
Plus, this follows a pattern that Activision did when revealing the aforementioned Crash Team Racing remake. Certain influencers were also given Crash-related merchandise, which did lead to the eventual reveal of Nitro-Fueled, a game so well-received that people are still playing it today, even with the annoying microtransactions.
Some fans were hoping that Activision would remake more flawed Crash games like The Wrath of Cortex and Crash Twinsanity, but with some much-needed additions that make them better to play. Personally, I just want to see a new Crash Bandicoot game with the refined mechanics that worked well for N. Sane Trilogy but improved upon. Some new upgrades would be neat too.
Fans are expecting a new Crash Bandicoot game to appear during The Game Awards on December 12. In the meantime, Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy and Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled are available now on PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
