The next VALORANT Agent is coming, and all clues point towards codename Deadeye. Riot hasn't officially revealed the 17th agent for its popular tactical shooter, but with a new episode arriving in November, there's a good chance that the developer will share details soon, including their appearance, abilities, name, and release date.

Riot has been teasing the next VALORANT Agent for months. The VALORANT Year One Anthem video released in June shared our first look at a well-dressed person known as Deadeye with what appears to be a sniper rifle resting on his shoulder.

We've compiled the latest information about the next VALORANT Agent, and we will update this article with more details as they come, so feel free to bookmark this page.

Here's everything we know so far about VALORANT Agent #17, a.k.a. Deadeye (Note that there is an eighth agent in the VALORANT Protocol but their identity is unknown so even though Deadeye is technically Agent #18, he would be the 17th agent introduced in the game.)

In September 2021's State of the Agents update, VALORANT character producer John Goscicki shared some information about the next agent, but he doesn't specifically mention Deadeye.

"We took a step back and thought about different ways to provide another Sentinel to the roster," Goscicki wrote. "A Sentinel that focuses on mechanical outplays, with an additional focus of gunplay into the mix for an extra flourish."

Goscicki went on to say that achieving a dream moment will be "magnifigue," which is a nod to the French character from the trailer. At the bottom of the update, an image of a hot cup of coffee on a small plate, and a business card on a wooden table though he didn't elaborate its connection to the new Agent.

The most interesting detail here is the confirmation that the next Agent will be a Sentinel. Currently, VALORANT has only three Sentinel agents: Cypher, Killjoy, and Sage, so having another Sentinel would be a welcomed addition that could make the gameplay more interesting.

On September 1, Riot shared a teaser for Fracture —VALORANT’s latest map. While the teaser mostly focused on showcasing Fracture, it also's narrated by a mysterious French voice, which is speculated to belong to the new agent. “Incredible that something so small can create such an opportunity,” the voice says. “Their efforts were noble, but sacrifices must be made. Such a pity.”

This would make Deadeye the first-ever French Agent in the game, joining a multilingual cast of characters. However, there's a chance that the agent could be from any of the French-speaking countries like Canada.

In the security announcement on Fracture, there are also references to Vincent Fabron, a distinctly French-sounding name. “Warning! Vincent Fabron is no longer permitted on facility grounds. Any persons resembling Fabron must be reported, it says.”

During the VALORANT South America LCQ, Riot shared a sneak-peek on the new Agent Deadeye. If you look closely while Cypher is falling through space, you can spot an image of Deadeye.

At the time of this writing, Riot hasn't shared any details about Deadeye's abilities, but we can speculate that one of them has something to do with the huge weapon he's wielding in the teasers. Since he's confirmed to be a Sentinel, it's likely that he will have more defensive abilities and won't have any aggressive strategies that Duelists would usually have.

Riot shared more teasers that may offer clues to Deadeye's abilities. Over the official VALORANT social media accounts, Riot shared gifs of what appears to be related to Deadeye:

The next VALORANT Agent was originally expected to release with the launch of Episode 3, Act 3 on Nov. 2, but on Oct. 28, Riot announced that the release of the upcoming Agent will be delayed two weeks after Episode 3, Act 3, so that means Deadeye will likely be released around Nov. 16.
