5 Interesting Facts About Demon Slayer That Will Blow Your Mind

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba made its way to the top by selling more than 150 million copies as of February 2021 and getting the title of highest-grossing anime film for its film, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba the Movie: Mugen Train.

The growing popularity of Demon Slayer is no joke as its franchise already has an estimated sales of at least $2.6 billion as of December 2020. Take note that this is for Japan alone. The series is also known in different parts of the world. Truly amazing, right? But what fans do not know is that the series has 5 interesting facts that will blow everyone’s mind.

  1. The film’s title was supposed to be “Infinite Train”

The film covered the Infinite Train arc of the manga which are chapters 54 to 69. The reason for this is that the train in the manga is called Infinite train which was ridden by Tanjiro and the others to eliminate the demon who is responsible for multiple disappearances. However, it was changed to avoid issues with the cartoon named Infinity Train that was shown on Cartoon Network.

  2. Demon slayers with marks are cursed

As fans might have noticed, Tanjiro has a mark on his face. This is not a typical mark as only demon slayers with certain pre-requisites can have it, like surviving a near-death experience. Once the mark appears, the swordsman will receive a huge amount of power but in return, their life span is lessened. The demon slayer would then die by the age of 25.

  3. The Hashiras have regions to protect

Aside from having their own breathing styles, the hashira also have their own regions to look after. They need to protect the humans from demon attacks and gather intel regarding demons if there are any.

  4. Only two demons are not under the influence of Muzan

All of the demons are controlled by Muzan except for two: Tamayo and Nezuko. Tamayo was once his underling but everything changed when she decided to kill Muzan. She is also medically proficient and eventually developed a demon antidote. For Nezuko, she managed to block Muzan by controlling her emotions.

  5. Akari and Nezuko are surprisingly similar in some ways

Akari Kito, the voice actress who plays Nezuko, has the same height as Nezuko which is 5 feet. Another interesting fact is that one of the kanji that is used to spell Akari’s name actually means demon.
