Alice Through The Looking Glass
The beloved children’s classic was recently brought to life in theaters, featuring everyone’s favorite characters, from the Mad Hatter to the Cheshire Cat and Alice herself. Although this is the sequel to 2010s Alice in Wonderland, Through The Looking Glass is the more popular book in the series. Fans of the 2010 film are sure to love this sequel.
Pete’s Dragon
Pete’s Dragon is a totally re-imagined version of the 1977 film. It tells a lovable story of an orphaned boy who befriends a mythical dragon in the woods. They become best friends, but trouble ensues. While a simple plot, the movie is magical in more ways than one, and the scenery is breathtaking.
The BFG
What happens when a girl encounters a big friendly giant? Well, you will have to watch the movie to find out! The story follows Sophie, who interacts with a gentle behemoth that is outcast from his realm for refusing to munch on humans. The graphics of this movie are breathtaking and the story imparts wisdom. It teaches children that it is ok to ask others for help and that it is ok to be different. This film is perfect for younger audiences, who will be begging to play it over and over again.
The Jungle Book
This years new live action Jungle Book film is a visual masterpiece and fantastic remake by Disney. It follows the epic adventure of a human child raised in the jungle by the jungle. For those familiar with the 1967 classic, this version has a different, but amazing ending. Voice overs are exceptional performed by Bill Murray, Sir Ben Kingsley, and Scarlett Johansson. This is one film you shouldn’t miss, earning 9 out of 10 stars in our DVD review!
Beauty and the Beast 25th Anniversary Edition
Pick this up while it is out of the vault! Beauty and the Beast is an eternal Disney classic. Now is a great time to relive the tale, before the live action version starring Emma Watson is released in March, 2017 on the big screen. The 25th anniversary comes with four different versions of the film and plenty of extras. We gave it a 10 out of 10 stars earlier this year (read our review!). We can’t recommend this movie and edition enough! Go pick it up!
Finding Dory
I’m rarely excited by sequels, but Finding Dory is an absolute top-notch film. I watched this with my family- which includes kids, adults, and teenagers, and all loved the film equally. It is as fantastic or better than the original and is sure to be a timeless classic that families will watch for decades to come.
Zootopia
Our #1 movie in the list, Zootopia, is one of the best animated films Disney has made in decades! Zootopia has everything for everyone. An interesting plot, a diverse and fun cast, a few surprising twists, epic scenery, amazing animation, witty banter, and more!
