Fans of the hit Western drama series Yellowstone have a lot to look forward to this June. Paramount Network has announced that it will be broadcasting the full season of the prequel series 1883: A Yellowstone Origin Story.
This is the first time that 1883 will be available on linear TV, giving fans a chance to relive the Dutton family's journey from Texas to Montana in the late 19th century. Created by Yellowstone creator Taylor Sheridan, the limited series features a star-studded cast led by Sam Elliott, Tim McGraw, and Faith Hill.
1883: A Yellowstone Origin Story Premise
1883 explores the origin story of the Dutton family, a powerful and wealthy ranching dynasty that serves as the centerpiece of Yellowstone. Viewers will witness the family's struggles as they face the challenges of life on the frontier, including hostile terrain, unforgiving weather, and dangerous encounters with outlaws and other threats.
The show follows the family's journey from Texas to Montana, offering a unique perspective on the American West in the late 19th century.
1883: A Yellowstone Origin Story features a star-studded cast, including Sam Elliott as Shea Brennan, a tough cowboy who leads the Duttons on their journey. Country music stars Tim McGraw and Faith Hill portray James and Margaret Dutton, the family's patriarch and matriarch.
Other big names in the cast include Academy Award winner Billy Bob Thornton, Isabel May, LaMonica Garrett, Marc Rissmann, Audie Rick, Eric Nelsen, and James Landry Hébert.

The Success
1883 premiered exclusively on Paramount+ in December 2021, generating a lot of buzz and anticipation from fans. The show earned record numbers at Paramount+, solidifying Yellowstone's popularity.
Fans will now have the opportunity to watch the prequel series on linear TV, with extended featurettes at the end of each episode offering a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the show.
While Yellowstone will end its successful run after the ongoing Season 5, the Yellowstone universe will continue without its main cast. An anthology spin-off series, Lawmen: Bass Reeves, starring David Oyelowo, is in the works, as is another sequel series with Matthew McConaughey eyed for the main role.
