100 Thieves Ethan: CS: GO "was getting really Stale" While "Everything right now in Valorant seems very fresh’

Ever since Riot Games released Valorant last June, professional players from other shooter games like Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Overwatch, and Apex Legends have switched their focus on Riot's latest tactical shooter. Ethan Arnold is one of the pros who recently transitioned from CS: GO to Valorant after five years to join 100 Thieves.

Ethan recently explained why he switched to Valorant. Speaking to Dot Esports, he said, "For me, personally, CS was getting really stale. Nothing has really changed in the last two years. Everything right now in VALORANT seems very fresh and I think that's something I was excited about, learning a whole new game."

Ethan is not the first member of 100 Thieves who switched to Valorant from CS: GO. All four of his teammates —Spencer "Hiko" Martin, Nicholas "nitr0" Cannella, Joshua "steel" Nissan, and Peter "Asuna" Mazuryk— also transitioned to Riot's shooter.

Ethan also praised Valorant developers for "[taking] professional feedback very seriously," something that CS: GO was "really lacking."

Ethan also told Dot Esports that CS: GO's transition to Europe was also factor in his decision to switch. Since many major CS: GO events take place in Europe, it meant "a lot more travel" and "a lot of time away from home" for the Houston-based player.

The young 100 Thieves pro also talked about how his team has been supportive and "made it very comfortable" for him. "They were just like 'We know you have a lot to learn, so don't worry," he told Dot Esports. "We're going to go through it with you.'"

100 Thieves recently lost to Sentinels in the semifinals of VCT Masters last Sunday, but it looks like Ethan is still determined to learn more about Valorant. I can't wait to see what the young player will accomplish with the 100 Thieves.
