10 Things We’re Hoping to See in the Avengers 4 Trailer

Rumor has it the highly anticipated trailer for Avengers 4 is slated to drop this evening following a special screening of Avengers: Infinity War.

Of course, whether or not that’s true remains to be seen. In the meantime, though, we here at Epicstream have compiled a list of 10 things we’re hoping to see in the Avengers 4 trailer. Check them out, and then let us know in the comments section what you want to see in the trailer when it finally arrives.

  1. Ant-Man & The Wasp

As jam-packed as Avengers: Infinity War was, several heroes were conspicuous by their absence. Among those heroes are Ant-Man and the Wasp, who starred in the eponymously titled film in July. That being said, here’s to hoping we get a glimpse of the insect-themed dynamic duo in the Avengers 4 trailer (or at the very least Scott, given Hope’s apparent demise).

  2. Hawkeye/Ronin

Another character who was missing from Infinity War was Clint Barton, aka Hawkeye, which came as quite a surprise. However, while we certainly want to see Clint in the Avengers 4 trailer, it isn’t as Hawkeye – it’s as Ronin. In the comics, Clint took on the mantle of Ronin in the pages of New Avengers, and rumors suggest he’ll be adopting that moniker for Avengers 4, presumably following the death of his family at the gauntleted hand of Thanos.

  3. Captain Marvel

In March 2019, Captain Marvel will finally make her long-awaited MCU debut. In the post-credits scene of Infinity War, though, her arrival was teased when Nick Fury attempted to page her just moments before he was dusted. Even if it were only a single shot, just seeing Captain Marvel come face to face with the remaining heroes would go miles in terms of fan service.

  4. Thanos

Infinity War ended with a scene ripped straight from the pages of the comics, as the Mad Titan Thanos rested on a farm (complete with a scarecrow wearing his armor) and reflected on his achievement of balancing the universe. Naturally, in the Avengers 4 trailer, we want to see what he’s up to now, as well as how he’s faring following the near-fatal blow he received from Thor.

  5. The Quantum Realm

The Quantum Realm, which has been mostly exclusive to the Ant-Man films thus far, will play a major role in Avengers 4. If we’re going to see Scott, who was stranded there in Ant-Man and the Wasp, it’d certainly make sense for us to get a glimpse of it in the trailer, and perhaps even some clues as to how it will factor into the narrative. After all, time and space operate differently in the Quantum Realm, so it very well could be the key to defeating Thanos, who can manipulate time and space with the Infinity Gauntlet.

  6. Cap and Iron Man, Together Again

Infinity War is the only MCU movie featuring both Captain America and Iron Man in which the two tentpole heroes never come face to face. Following the events of Captain America: Civil War, that’s not necessarily shocking, but in the Avengers 4 trailer, seeing them reunite in some capacity would be a welcome treat.

  7. The Timeline

It’s been rumored that Avengers 4 will feature a significant time jump from the events of Infinity War. If that’s the case, then hopefully the trailer will set some expectations as far as when the film takes place. And speaking of time…

  8. Time Travel

It’s no secret that Avengers 4 may feature not only a time jump but time travel, as well. This has been evidenced by photos seemingly taking Earth’s Mightiest Heroes back to the events of the first Avengers film (namely, the Battle of New York). Could the Quantum Realm allow the heroes to travel through time via the time vortexes that were name-dropped in Ant-Man and the Wasp? Perhaps the trailer will clue us in.

  9. Infinity War Aftermath

Of course, aside from the timeline and time travel, one of the biggest things we’re hoping to see in the Avengers 4 trailer is the state of the MCU following Thanos’ Infinity War snap. For instance, did characters such as Aunt May and Hawkeye’s family survive? Is the world in a state of post-apocalyptic mayhem? Hopefully, the trailer will give us a taste of Infinity War’s aftermath without revealing too much.

  10. The Title

Last, but certainly not least, we’re hoping the Avengers 4 trailer ends with the highly anticipated reveal of the film’s official title. From “Endgame” to “Annihilation,” many have speculated as to what that elusive title card will read, and if the trailer does drop tonight, then the answer isn’t far away.
