Deadpool and Wolverine director Shawn Levy opened up about how the MCU film will be different from the other entries in the franchise.

A lot of fans have been looking forward to the upcoming film since it will feature the team-up between Ryan Reynolds' Deadpool and Hugh Jackman's Wolverine, who is making his major comeback in the role.

However, the film is also coming out during a tumultuous time in the MCU's history since it is seen as the project that could put the franchise back in the right direction again and regain the public's interest.

Shawn Levy Says Deadpool and Wolverine is 'Decidedly Something Different'

Levy opened up about how he will bring a different flavor to Deadpool and Wolverine compared to what we've usually seen in the other MCU films during an interview.

He acknowledged that some of the recent MCU releases had received disappointing receptions and noted that his upcoming film will be "decidedly something different."

"You’d have to live under a rock not to know that the last few Marvel movies have failed to ignite the world in the way that so many did," the director said.

"We do come along at an interesting time. And we are decidedly something different. Whether it is of Messianic proportions, time will tell."

There is no doubt that a lot of stakes are being put in Deadpool and Wolverine and fans are hoping that it is indeed going to be the film that will put the MCU back on track.

Based on the story, characters, and tone alone, we can already tell that it will be much different from the other MCU offerings and perhaps that could attract the audience who might be having the so-called "superhero fatigue."

For now, let's wait and see how it all unfolds and we will be able to find out soon enough where Deadpool and Wolverine is indeed the "Marvel Jesus" that it is setting out to be.

Deadpool and Wolverine is set to arrive in theaters on July 26.
